About us
Welcome to Kāpiti Olympic Lifting (Inc.), the premier destination for strength, excellence, and empowerment for Olympic Weightlifting in the Wellington region. For over six years, under the expert guidance of Coach Hugh Lawrence, our athletes have excelled on both the national and international stage, breaking barriers and setting new standards in the sport.
At Kāpiti Olympic Lifting, we are proud to be athlete-led, athlete-centred, and committed to building confidence, technical excellence, and self-sufficient athletes who support one another as they push their personal boundaries. We offer a dynamic and inclusive space where weightlifters of all ages—from juniors to seniors to Masters—can strive for excellence on the platform, and a dedication to lifelong learning.
Our primary focus is on creating opportunities for female athletes to redefine what it means to be strong, both physically and mentally. With a programme rooted in mastery of technique and a commitment to Te Ao Māori values, we aim to empower our lifters to rise to challenges, pursue personal excellence, and contribute to a community that celebrates resilience, discipline, and teamwork.
More than just a weightlifting club, Kāpiti Olympic Lifting is a movement. We are committed to fostering a community where athletes of all ages can unlock their full potential in a supportive, structured, and inspiring environment.
Join us at our partner venue, Tōnuitanga, and become part of a thriving community where strength knows no limits.
ARA MAI KI TE WERO.
“ Rise to the challenge.”
